Hurricane Force Storm forecast over Southwestern North Atlantic

NOAA OPC Surface Forecast 00Z 10 Jan 2015

A developing gale low over the southwestern North Atlantic continues to deepen as it moves east and southeast with winds 30-45 knots within 180 NM south of the center.  As the system moves southeastward winds are forecast to reach 50-65 knots and seas to 10.5 meters (near 35 feet) over the next 18-24 hours within 150 NM west of the center.

SW North Atlantic storm could acquire subtropical characteristics

A deep low over the southwestern North Atlantic is producing winds of 40-55 knots within 90 NM west of the center.  As this low moves east and northeast conditions may become a bit more favorable for this system to acquire subtropical characteristics and the National Hurricane Center gives it a 30% probability to become a subtropical storm during the next 5 days.

North Central North Atlantic Storm Brewing

A complex area of low pressure over the Labrador Sea and Northwestern North Atlantic today will consolidate into an intense 948 mb storm low with winds of 50-65 knots and seas to 12 meters (near 40 ft) south and west of the low center by 12Z on the 7th.

Hurricane Force Storm developing Central North Pacific

A developing low over the western North Pacific will deepen rapidly as it moves northeastward reaching hurricane force with winds forecast 55-70 knots and seas building 7-12 meters (24-40 feet) 60-240NM west and south of the center as it nears the Aleutians in 36-48 hours.

North Pacific Storm Saturday update

An intense and dangerous hurricane force storm low continues to move northeastward over the central North Pacific  towards the eastern North Pacific with winds of 50 to 80 knots occurring between 120 and 240 NM south and west of the center.  Forecasts suggest that the system will soon peak and gradually start to slowly weaken over the next 12-24 hours.

North Pacific Storm Update

A rapidly deepening hurricane force storm low over the west-central North Pacific is forecast to produce winds of 55-70 knots with significant wave heights building 10-15 meters (33-50 feet)  within 240-300 NM southwest of the center during the next 24-36 hours. These conditions will cause vessel delays along central North Pacific shipping routes between 35N and 45N latitudes.

Hurricane Force Storm forecast in west-central North Pacific

A rapidly deepening storm low is forecast over the west-central North Pacific during the next 72 hours producing winds of 55-70 knots and waves 9-14.5 meters (30-48 feet) within 300NM south and southwest of the center.  Max winds and waves are expected along shipping lanes between 35N and 45N latitudes and may cause some shipping delays for westbound traffic.

North Atlantic Storm Update

A rapidly deepening storm low this morning over the central North Atlantic will move northward towards Iceland while a second hurricane force storm moves E-NE towards Ireland during the next 24 hours.  Winds of 50 to 65 knots, briefly higher are possible east and southeast of both lows and over the Denmark Strait between Iceland and Greenland. Max significant waves likely to be 11-13 meters (36-43 feet).

Intense Storm Forecast over Northeastern North Atlantic

A developing 996 MB low over the central North Atlantic will deepen rapidly and forecast to reach as low as 929 MB with winds to 80-90 knots and seas building to 14 meters (46 feet) south of Iceland.
